A 10cc liquid culture syringe of Reishi [Ganoderma curtisii].
This beautiful specimen was spotted by myself in someone's back yard. After getting permission from the home owners (a very friendly married couple), I identified this as G. curtisii based on the morphology and purple hues. I've since named her Umbra 💜.
This particular specimen is insanely fast at colonizing substrate and fruits just as quickly. Sometimes it will even fruit and colonize simultaneously! This has quickly become my favorite subspecies of Ganoderma.
Getting the purple to show in cultivated grows is a real challenge and might have more to do with environmental conditions. I am still playing with this factor as we speak but will update as I log more observations.Â
